About Mike Gainey

Army

I spent four and a half years getting a music degree -- specifically, a music education degree. I can't remember, exactly, but I think my faculty advisor talked me into adding the "education" to my music degree. He said I would be much more employable. He was right. But I think history shows that it was still a terrible idea. I flamed out of my music teaching job after 3-1/2 years. It's not that I didn't like it. It's that I wasn't good at it. So, I did the unthinkable. I joined the Army.
